ARCSOFT SHOWBIZ: A GOOD BASIC VIDEO EDITING APP FOR WINDOWS TABLETS BUT….
Good windows are lagging behind due to a store that is still a little empty. If it is now clear that we can fully work on Android or iPad, for Windows tablet version it is not yet obvious.
After much research, I have only isolated one free video editing solution and again, we will see that this is a bit of a concern later.
The app looks classic. a viewing window, a portion reserved for effects, transitions etc and a time line (well, a nickname shall we say).
The first concern is the time line. it does exist, but there is no timing. So you have to refer to what is visible on the tape. luckily, the program splits the video into small thumbnails. But imagine that you want to synchronize with audio, it quickly becomes complicated. We are not going to nitpick, we only do small edits, eh?
Then as with any app or software, we add media. Nothing could be simpler, there is a + button to add. Good surprise we can add many media at the same time. May that’s it all sticks anyhow on the timeline, you have to sort then.
For the rest it happens as with all editing software. effects, text. You click on the corresponding tab, you click on the part you want to modify and the effect or transition is applied.
arcsoft3 For pictures nice zoom and pan effects very easy to adjust by setting the start frame and the end frame, but there is a but. The app is specifically designed for tablets. Here again we can see the error of Windows with its dual system (well, the error of not having reserved the modern interface only for touch devices). If you don’t have for the modern interface, you won’t be able to resize the images when zooming as this can only be done with two fingers. But in touch this is very effective
For the rest, the elements move by dragging and dropping. It’s not too badly done but remember to cut your video into multiple pieces to apply effects, texts etc …
Adding text is simple and it is easy to edit
The app is free but there is still a but. Your project is exportable, but in the free version you have to be content with an export in 640X480 maximum. If you want more, the app costs 8.5 €. In view of what is being done elsewhere, this seems a bit exaggerated to me.
a small example of assembly below carried out in barely 10 minutes. I put all the possible transitions there even if it doesn’t help.
